International Certification Course for Asset Management Started Successfully in Europe
In cooperation with the „Centre of Maintenance and Reliability“ (C-More), T.A. Cook presented the intensive course, which has been successfully offered in the USA, Canada, Asia, Australia, South America and the Near East for the last ten years.
The program is specially designed to meet maintenance managers’ needs in asset-intensive industries; experts at the University of Toronto developed it. The course’s various modules include fundamentals for effective asset management and are augmented by the latest conceptual approaches and current case examples. “In first-hand practice reports and interactive elements, course contents come alive and can be applied in one’s own company later,” C-More director Dr. Andrew K. S. Jardine describes the concept. The course is directed at anyone who has responsibilities in large plants in the process industry or production sector in maintenance, productions, facility management or asset management. It provides support in making strategic decisions and dealing with daily workloads.
In mid-May 2014, participants from more than ten different countries and various fields such as mining, chemistry, energy, transport and pharmaceuticals met in Berlin. On the last day of the eight-day course, the diplomas were handed over – all participants successfully completed the program with a graduation certificate.
The participants positively emphasized the successful mix of topics as well as interesting exchange of experiences: “Many new ideas and how you can gain the most out of them. Great overview of the subject of asset management” (Cargill); “All lecturers were true experts in their fields. Very well organized” (Munich Airport); and “Very good mix of theory and practice” (Debswana Mines).
In addition to technical lectures and workshops, the attendants enjoyed a variety of activities during the evenings in Berlin where they were able to discuss the day’s course in a relaxed atmosphere.
To be continued… As a result of the great success and increasing demand, T.A. Cook will once again offer an intensive course on the subject of asset management in cooperation with the University of Toronto’s C-More Center next year. It is scheduled for the spring of 2015; details will be published well in advance on the following website:
